<div class=\"fa-lu-wrap\">\n   <p class=\"fa-lu-lead\">Maria is deputy chair of the parents\u2019 committee in Lusite, Angola. She has been involved with the village primary school for many years, and improving education for the children is particularly close to her heart. In this article, she talks about the progress made in recent years and the future she sees in it.<\/p>\n  <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n <section class=\"fa-lu-quote\">\n  <div class=\"fa-lu-wrap\">\n   <blockquote>\n    <p>\u201cFor many years, we parents looked for ways to build classrooms so that our children would no longer have to sit under trees or elsewhere. Now those efforts are coming to an end.\u201d<\/p>\n    <footer class=\"fa-lu-who\"><strong>Maria<\/strong>Deputy chair of the parents\u2019 committee, Lusite<\/footer>\n   <\/blockquote>\n  <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n <section class=\"fa-lu-sec\">\n  <div class=\"fa-lu-wrap\">\n   <h2 class=\"fa-lu-h2 fa-lu-serif\">Maria takes on responsibility<\/h2>\n   <div class=\"fa-lu-text\">\n    <p>Since 2019, Maria has been vice-chair of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) in Lusite. She also supports the school as a volunteer cook. Providing school meals is the key measure for changing the education situation in the long term.<\/p>\n    <p>Maria\u2019s own children are now grown up. Today she lives with her nine-year-old grandson, who is in his third year of primary school. Some children had to learn under trees or in simple makeshift shelters. The construction of the new school in Lusite is changing this fundamentally. According to Maria, parents will no longer have to build small mud huts with grass roofs to protect pupils from the sun and the weather.<\/p>\n    <p class=\"fa-lu-pull\">\u201cWith the new school, all that is a thing of the past. The progress in Lusite shows how investing in educational infrastructure can bring about lasting change.
