2. Goals

Improving water access and hygiene

The project aims to improve access to clean water and promote hygiene practices in the target communities in order to improve the general health of the population.

Construction of 10 water wells to directly improve the water supply for 27,000 households.

Restoration of 100 non-functioning water points to ensure access to water.

Training of 10 well mechanics, mainly young people, to ensure the maintenance and repair of the water points.

Implementation of 12 training courses in selected communities to promote better hygiene and sanitation practices.

Implementation of sustainable water management methods to adapt to climate change.

Ensure that women and girls are actively involved in all project activities, especially in training measures.

Evaluation of lessons learned from the project as a basis for future initiatives, projects and strategies.

3. project structure

Planning and implementation

The project will be implemented over a period of three years, starting with a comprehensive hydrological study through to the construction and maintenance of the water points. Continuous training of the communities in hygiene practices and water management is also part of the plan.

1.Hydrological investigation

Conduct a thorough hydrological study to identify suitable sites for the construction of new water wells. This investigation will help to use water resources efficiently and ensure the sustainability of the water points.

2.Construction of the water wells

Construction of 10 new water wells designed to meet the needs of 27,000 households. Each well will be designed to be easily accessible and secure the water supply in the long term.

3.Rehabilitation of existing water points

Identification and repair of 100 defective water points that currently restrict access to water. This measure will significantly improve the water supply in the region.

4.Training in hygiene practices

Implementation of 12 training courses in hygiene practices for communities, schools and health facilities. The aim is to promote awareness of hygienic lifestyles and reduce the spread of waterborne diseases.

5.Introduction of irrigation techniques

Training communities in modern irrigation methods to increase agricultural productivity and make access to water resources more efficient.

6.Training of well mechanics

Recruitment and training of 10 well mechanics from the local youth to ensure the maintenance of the water points and support the local economy.

7.Development of educational programs

Provide learning materials and didactic kits for schools for training in hygiene and sustainable water use. These materials will expand the knowledge base of students and emphasize the importance of clean water and hygiene.

4. project activities

Measures to improve water quality and hygiene systems

The project includes a variety of activities aimed at improving the water supply and promoting the health of the community. These activities include both the construction of water points and comprehensive training programs.

Construction of 10 water wells and rehabilitation of 100 defective water points to ensure access to clean water for all households.

Conducting hygiene training in communities to raise awareness of the importance of hygiene and prevent the spread of disease.

Introduction of climate-friendly WASH programs to strengthen resilience to the impacts of climate change, including training for local authorities in the implementation of sustainable water management strategies.
