The aim of the project is to establish a SMART Center in the West Nile region of Uganda to improve the food security and resilience of refugee communities through sustainable agricultural technologies.

1. Project design

Holistic approach to food security

The project aims to develop solutions that support both refugees and host communities through training in sustainable agricultural technologies and improving market opportunities for smallholder farmers.

Creation of a sustainable Livelihood

The project aims to increase agricultural production and income through climate-friendly agricultural methods.

Increasing agricultural production through new technologies.

Promoting access to affordable financial services.

Integration of women from refugee communities into the labor market.

Structure and implementation

The project will be developed over a three-year period, starting with the construction of a SMART Center, followed by training and continuous evaluation.

1.Construction of the SMART Center.

3.Distribution of agricultural inputs.

4.Financial education and promotion of self-employment.

The project includes training activities and technical support to improve agricultural practices and promote community resilience.

Training on sustainable agricultural practices and the use of modern technologies such as solar-powered irrigation pumps.

Distribution of drought-resistant seeds and agricultural tools.

Support for the establishment of agricultural cooperatives with access to credit.
