Hike ForArika - 23. August 2025
Your hiking adventure that changes not only your life, but the lives of others in Africa too.
Be part of it when it’s time again: “Together for Africa – 100 kilometers for a good cause!”
On August 23, 2025, the great hike around Lake Zurich kicks off. You’ll cover 100 kilometers in 24 hours to help change lives in Africa. The goal of Hike ForAfrika is simple but powerful: by taking part and raising sponsorships, you’ll suppor vital development projects across Africa.
And the best part? You get to choose which of the following projects you want to hike for:
- Wells & Water Projects – to provide access to clean drinking water and proper sanitation
- School Nutrtition – to ensure children receive at least one nutritious meal every day at school day
- Preschool Renovations – to create safe, inspiring spaces for learning and play
How does it work?
Before the event, you find sponsors who support your hike with a donation – either per kilometer or as a fixed amount. Every step you take helps create lasting change in the lives of children and families in Africa.
Push your limits
Hike ForAfrika is more than just a hiking event – it’s a challenge that will push you, inspire you, and change lives along the way. There will be moments when you reach your limits – and that’s exactly when you’ll discover what you’re truly capable of. It’s about testing yourself, pushing through, and doing it all for a meaningful cause: to make a real and lasting difference.
An unforgettable experience
Hike ForAfrika is a once-in-a-lifetime charity adventure you’ll never forget. You’ll see that what once seemed impossible is only the beginning. If you’ve made it this far, you can achieve anything – and you’ve helped change lives doing it.

Our Hike Projects 2025
Wells & Water

In rural Sub-Saharan Africa, 34% of the population still has no access to clean drinking water. To change this, we drill deep boreholes and install manual hand pumps to tap into underground water sources.
As part of our WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) programs, we also build wash stations and latrines and offer hygiene education to prevent the spread of disease.
School Feeding

Education is one of the most powerful tools to break the cycle of poverty – and it starts with a full stomach. Through our school meals program, we provide a vitamin- and nutrient-rich meal every school day at 23 schools in Angola.
This not only fights malnutrition but also increases school attendance and improves students’ focus in class. Just CHF 9.50 is enough to feed one schoolchild for an entire month.
Preschool Renovation Projects

Volunteer teams in Switzerland raise funds to renovate a preschool and then travel to South Africa – at their own expense – to help with the construction. We rebuild daycares, create playgrounds, and design child-friendly gardens.
These projects inspire local involvement and create safe, welcoming spaces for children to learn and play.
Many volunteers tell us the experience changed their lives in deeply meaningful ways.
