We consist of an operational and a strategic (Foundation Board) team. With vision, passion and professionalism, we work every day to ensure that ForAfrika can successfully implement the projects in our partner countries.
Out of conviction and out of love for the people of Africa, we are committed to ensuring that up to 20 million people will be able to provide for themselves and lead a dignified, self-determined life by 2032.
We at Switzerland ForAfrika are passionate about contributing to this global goal – with integrity, our team spirit and our down-to-earth and approachable working culture.

We talk about our history. ForAfrika was originally called JAM International and was founded in Africa in 1984 by South African Peter Pretorius. Deeply shaken by the suffering of the famine in Mozambique, he began transporting and distributing food. Switzerland ForAfrika (formerly JAM Switzerland) was founded in 2006 and has been supporting JAM International in its work as a partner ever since. Because we are convinced that everyone has the right to lead a life in dignity and independence.
Our name(formerly “JAM”) has changed. We have been called “ForAfrika” since spring 2022. This better expresses where we come from and what we stand for. We love Africa!
